Professor Gaetano Antonio Sciuto
Associate Professor of Technical Architecture at the University of Catania, his research over the past decades has primarily focused on sustainability in the construction sector. His work explores the use of natural materials, such as wood, raw earth, and straw, as well as the technological and energy-efficient retrofitting of post-war buildings. His studies also include the integration of greening systems on roofs and façades to enhance building performance and sustainability.

Professor Grazia Lombardo
Professor of Technical Architecture 1 at the University of Catania, her scientific activity focuses on typological and technological issues related to historic buildings and contemporary architecture. Her current research explores possible approaches for implementing greening interventions on existing built heritage, aiming to enhance its sustainability and environmental performance.

Professor Alessandro Lo Faro
Type B Researcher in Built Environment Production and Management, he teaches “Safety in Construction Site Management.” His research focuses on the study and analysis of historic built heritage, construction site practices, and energy-efficient building retrofitting, with particular emphasis on natural light contributions and greening strategies to enhance sustainability and environmental performance.
